Fabulous (2022) - Pilot Episode Review: "Cool and Fun Friendship"

"Fabulous" is Pyo Ji-Eun and Minho's most recent drama series that aired on Netflix. The eight-part series of the aforementioned drama is already available on Netflix. Despite the fact that they have already posted all of the episodes, I will be sharing my feelings and thoughts on the pilot episodeonly of this drama.

I usually watch all of the episodes before writing a review, especially if they are all uploaded in one day. But I'm afraid that this series will end up like Somebody, where I wasn't able to share my thoughts because I stopped watching after the fourth episode. I'll just share my thoughts on this one before it happens.

I was unable to continue Somebody for various reasons, which I will discuss once I have finished that series. In the meantime, this review will concentrate on the first episode of Netflix's eight-part series, Fabulous.

This series tells the story of people who have dedicated their lives to the Fashion Industry and their struggle to make a living from it. It revolves specifically around Ji-Eun's character, Chae Soo-Bin, and Minho's character, Ji Woo-Min. Other than those two, we should not overlook Joseph, played by Lee Sang-Un, and Ye Seon-Ho, played by Park Hee-Jung.

This foursome was the one I identified as having the cool and fun friendship. They were all involved in the fashion industry. Chae Soo-bin is a publicist for the Audrey clothing line, and Ji Woo-Min is a freelance photo retoucher in charge of improving the photo. Ye Seon-Ho was a model, and Joseph was a fashion stylist. They are all involved in the fashion industry and frequently cross paths and sometimes or most of the times work together.

The first episode begins with Chae Soo-Bin waking up in the room of her ex-boyfriend, Ji Woo-Min. Chae Soo-Bin had a boyfriend at the time, but they broke up the next day for unrelated reasons. It's a good thing the former lovers' one-night stand didn't cause too much trouble.

The series showed what the four were doing in the fashion world and even how close the four were in the pilot episode. I suppose it was a fun series to watch, and I hope I can find time to continue watching it until the end. The main characters have both the looks and the visuals. I am thinking where I was watch Minho and after researching to the possible drama where I was watched it, I realized that I watched him in the Korean Drama Series entitled "To the Beautiful You".

I hadn't seen him in a long time. I wasn't able to watch Yumi's Cells, so the last series I watched in which he appeared was back in 2012, when Korean drama was on the rise. In fact, a large number of DVDs were sold in the Philippine market at the time.

For Chae Soo-Bin, I had the feeling that I watched her before and after some searching as well I found out that I watched her in the series "I am not a Robot". I've seen a lot of Korean dramas, but not as many as I would have liked because I couldn't watch both Minho's and Soo-Bin's other and previous dramas. Maybe I took a break from watching when that series was aired.

Lastly, it was a good drama. I like that the ex-lover had a romantic encounter at first, and I'm curious how the story will lead to their rekindled romantic relationship if one exists. Minho is still attractive after ten years. I just hope I can finish it before the new year because there will be a lot of exciting drama to look forward to.
