Red Balloon (2022) - Pilot Episode Review: "Talk about hidden desires"

Red Balloon is TV Chosun's newest drama series, telling the story of four people attempting to satisfy their desires and soothe their heartbreaks. These four people are Jo Eung Gang (Seo Ji-Hye), Ji Nam-Cheol (Lee Sung-Jae), Han Ba-Da (Hong Soo-Hyun), and Go Cha-Won (Lee Sang-Woo).

Jo Eung Gang aspires to be a teacher, but after failing her teaching examination, she now works as a private tutor. She appears to be calm at all times, but she has something hot in her heart. She was the type of person who would go to any length to get what she desired.

Ji Nam-Cheol is from a poor family and married into a wealthy one. He runs a company that is actually owned by his father-in-law. Even though he was the CEO, he had no power in that company.

Han Ba-Da is Eung-Gang best friend. She is a jewelry designer and is married to Go Cha-Won. She came from a wealthy family, but her family went bankrupt just before her wedding. Despite what has happened, Cha-Won still marry Han Ba-Da.

Go Chan-Won is a dermatologist and became a doctor as his parents expected. He was Ji Nam-Cheol brother-in-law.

I'm not a fan of mistresses because they're so common in Philippine drama. "VIP," the most recent Korean Drama involving a mistress that I enjoyed, had a mystery and drama in addition to a mistress theme. But I believe Red Balloon had its own mystery and secrets. One of these was between Ji Nam-Cheol and Jo Eung-Gang, which I am very interested in learning more about.

Also, I'm curious to see how the story unfolds and how it will make my heart race. I hope it isn't just a simple husband stealing, but that they can make it more complicated and entertaining to watch.

I'm not familiar with the actors and actresses, but based on the pilot, I believe they'll be able to do justice to their roles because the way they acted fits perfectly with their appearance. Many viewers are looking forward to this drama because it is Seo Ji-Hye's drama, and according to them, Seo Ji-Hye is very good in melodrama. Let's see how this drama plays out, and I hope it piques my interest.
